All Souls Orchestra and Langham Arts ensembles

All Souls Orchestra

Founded in 1972 by Noël Tredinnick, the then newly-appointed Director of Music at All Souls Church, Langham Place in London, UK, the All Souls Orchestra has gone on to develop an internationally-respected ministry. The Orchestra continues to delight thousands of concertgoers every year, including at flagship events such as Prom Praise and Prom Praise for Schools, which for some time have had their home at the Royal Albert Hall and at many of the UK’s favorite concert halls.

The Orchestra is directed by Principal Conductor and Artistic Director, Michael Andrews.

The All Souls Orchestra plays an eclectic selection of music, encompassing substantial and challenging symphonic works to lively arrangements of contemporary worship songs.

The Orchestra’s albums can be purchased from Langham Arts Trust’s UK Store.

Prom Praise Gathered Choir

Coming from a variety of churches and denominations, the Prom Praise Gathered Choir performs at the Royal Albert Hall with the All Souls Orchestra, at Prom Praise. The Gathered Choir is formed of singers from all over London and beyond.

There is an opportunity to be part of the Gathered Choir for anyone who is able to read music and attend rehearsals in London. For those living further afield, there are regional groups who prepare together. Should there be no group near you, you might like to recruit a group in your area.

Langham Big Band

The Langham Big Band comprises some of the UK’s top jazz performers, who are also members of its world-renowned sister ensemble, the All Souls Orchestra. The band plays a mixture of favorite hymns and jazz classics, celebrating the sacred output of Duke Ellington, Dave Brubeck, Vince Guaraldi and many more.
The Big Band has played with an array of guest artists and jazz composers – many of whom feature on their album Feel the Spirit – including jazz-gospel singer LD Frazier, Paul Jones (Manfred Mann), saxophonist Ben Castle and jazz composer Scott Stroman.

Langham Arts Youth Orchestra

In a pressured season of life, from bustling cities to remote towns, there is little opportunity for young musicians in the UK to combine their passion for music and faith. With Psalm 145 as our inspiration, we aim to gather young musicians from across London and the UK, forming the Langham Arts Youth Orchestra—a community where faith and music meet for future generations.
